Misclassification Corrections Results in 64% Reduction of Value

A national auto parts retailer engaged INTAX to review and appeal the results of a personal property tax audit. Our review resulted in the identification of several errors and misclassifications in the auditors workpapers. We documented the issues in the workpapers and negotiated a 64% reduction in the original audit assessment. Total personal property tax savings for all years under audit exceeded $185,000.
