A global leader in the development and manufacture of aluminum products engaged INTAX to minimize the personal property tax liability at one of the largest plants of its kind in the U.S. In connection with our review, we conducted a detailed walk-through of the facility with experienced plant personnel. This detailed approach resulted in the identification of nearly $80,000,000 in assets that had been erroneously reported as taxable personal property. Additional assets were determined to have been misclassified on the original return, as filed by the taxpayer. Our team worked with the assessing officials to ensure a proper assessment of those items. Total annual property tax savings exceeded $848,000.
