Review Finds Additional Pollution Abatement and Ghost Asset Savings of $145,000

A Dallas, Texas based medical device manufacturer represented by another national firm engaged INTAX to review the reporting and subsequent assessment at one of their large manufacturing facilities. Our review indicated that the return submitted by their current providers failed to appropriately identify assets that were intended solely for pollution abatement. Additionally, our visit to the facility identified several assets that were misclassified or no longer located on-site. INTAX filed amended returns for the applicable tax years and negotiated an adjustment with the assessing authority. Total annual property tax savings exceeded $145,000.
